Das Kaktuszimmer - the cactus room
Um es gleich vorwegzunehmen: das 60ies-Zimmer gibt es so nicht mehr. Es wurde umgestaltet und ist zum Kaktuszimmer geworden. Der Grund hierfür liegt darin, dass ich das Zimmer mit dem Möbeln im Stil der 60er-Jahre zwar als einen netten Gag empfunden habe und mir der Gedanke, ein paar alte Möbelstücke in der Black Forest Lodge zu erhalten, gefallen hat - aber als Zimmer zum so richtig wohlfühlen habe ich es aufgrund der Einrichtung nie gesehen. Die Nachfrage nach einem günstigen Zimmer mit Gemeinschaftsbad und zwei getrennten Betten ist hingegen groß. Sei es von zwei Freundinnen, Freunden, Geschwistern, Vater und Tochter, Arbeitern .... alle haben schon im 60ies-Zimmer gewohnt.
So wollte ich es irgendwie einladender und moderner gestalten. Die Betten und die Anordnung der Möbel sind geblieben. Bei den Farben schwebte mir eine Kombination aus altrosé, grau und grün vor. Graue Nachttische und Stühle, das war schnell beschlossen. Auch die farbige Wand - das sind so erfrischende Farbtupfer. Das Kaktusbild wurde ganz zufällig auf einen Kommentar meiner Mutter hin ausgewählt: "das Bild ist doch lustig". Wir stöberten auf gut Glück nach Bilder mit rosa und grünen Farbtönen. Spontan kaufte ich es. Und so erhielt das Zimmer seinen Namen. Hier erst einmal das namensgebende Bild in groß:
To come straight to the point: the 60ies room does not exist that way any longer. It has been redesigned and it has become the cactus room. The reason ist that I liked the room with the typical furniture from the 60ies as a gag and I also liked the thought to keep some ancient pieces of furniture from the house, but I never really found the room to be cozy. On the other hand, there has been a lot of demand for a cheap room with a shared bathroom and two separate beds. Two friends, brothers and sisters, father and daughter, workers ... all have been living inthe 60ies room.
That's why I wanted to remodel the room to make it more inviting and modern. The arrangement of the beds and the sitting area has remained. And colorwise, I dreamed of pink, grey and green. I particularily like the colorful walls in the grey room and in the breakfast rooms of the Black Forest Lodge, so I went for a pink wall. The eponymous cactus picture has been chosen by chance, when my mom and I searched online through some paintings in pink and green. I instantly liked this one when my mother pointed it out. So I bought it:

Und noch eine persönliche Note als Bonus. Henriette, die Teilnehmerin eines Seminars, die auch Gedichte schreibt, hat mir folgendes Gedicht gereimt:

Die Umgestaltung des Raumes war gar nicht so einfach, da das Zimmer in letzter Zeit fast immer besetzt war und das immer so nebenbei geschehen musste. So habe ich auch noch nicht im Kaktuszimmer übernachtet, werde das aber tun, sobald sich die Gelegenheit ergibt. Mir gefällt das Ergebnis aber auf jeden Fall und ich finde den Raum auf jeden Fall frischer und moderner. Und ins Gesamtkonzept des Hauses fügt er sich auch gut ein. Was meint ihr?
The rearrangement of the room has not been that easy as the room has been occupied most of the time and we had to chance things in between. I therefore haven't slept myself in the new room yet, but I will try it out as soon as possible. For now, I can say that I like the outcome, the room is fresher and more modern. And it fits into the overall design of the house. What do you think?
