Mehr Platz für Bücher: Das Lounge-Update - More space for books: An update of the lounge
Das Bücherregal im Gästewohnzimmer der Black Forest Lodge, der »Lounge«, ist schon länger aus allen Nähten geplatzt. Bücherliebhaber kennen das Phänomen wahrscheinlich: Egal, wie groß das Regal ist – irgendwann ist einfach kein Platz mehr. Ich würde sogar behaupten, dass es in unserem Haushalt besonders schnell geht ;-)
Schon lange wollte ich das Bücherregal erweitern. Letzte Woche war mein Papa zu Besuch, und gemeinsam haben wir das Projekt endlich in Angriff genommen.
The bookshelf in the guest living room of the Black Forest Lodge, the »lounge«, has been bursting at the seams for quite some time now. Book lovers will probably be familiar with this phenomenon: no matter how big the bookshelf is, at some point there is simply no more space left. I would even go as far as to say that this happens particularly quickly in our household. ;-)
I had been wanting to expand the bookshelf for a long time. Last week, my dad came to visit, and together we finally got around to tackling the project.
Das Bücherregal wurde auf das anderthalbfache vergrößert. Jetzt ist allgemein wieder mehr Platz für Bücher, und natürlich auf für die »Bücher von Autoren, die in der Lodge zu Gast waren«. Auch dieses Regalfach ist übergequollen – jetzt gibt es wieder etwas Platz für eure Bücher.
The bookshelf has been expanded to one and a half times its original size. There is now generally more space for books again, and of course also for the »books by authors who have been guests at the lodge«. This shelf section had also become overflowing – now there is once again a bit of space for your books.
Auch meine eigenen Bücher (die ja auch nicht weniger werden) wollte ich seit langem neu präsentieren. So, dass die Gäste auf diese aufmerksam werden und sie sich ansehen können. Aber alles so, dass es nicht aufdringlich wirkt. Jetzt gibt es ein separates, weißes, Regalbrett, auf dem die Bücher liegen, die ich geschrieben habe:
I had also wanted for a long time to present my own books in a new way. The idea was to make them visible to guests so they can discover and browse them, but in a way that doesn’t feel intrusive. There is now a separate white shelf board where the books I have written are displayed.
Wenn man schon einmal alles ausräumt, bietet sich natürlich die Gelegenheit zum Aufräumen, Aussortieren und Neuordnen. Den jährlichen Großputz habe ich deshalb gleich mit erledigt.
Weinregal und Fernseher sind geblieben, genauso der Lesesessel und Flyerständer. Ein paar Kissen und ein neues Bild sind dazugekommen.
Once everything is cleared out anyway, it naturally offers a good opportunity to tidy up, sort through things, and reorganise. I therefore took the chance to do the annual deep clean at the same time.
The wine rack and the TV have stayed, as well as the reading armchair and the flyer stand. A few cushions and a new picture have been added.
Ich freue mich sehr über das Ergebnis. Die Lounge wirkt jetzt noch einladender und bietet wieder genügend Platz zum Stöbern, Schmökern und Entdecken.

I’m very happy with the result. The lounge now feels even more inviting and once again offers plenty of space for browsing, reading, and discovering.
