Letzte Woche ging hier mal wieder so richtig was voran: aus dem Ort kam gleich eine ganze Helfermannschaft an, der sich bereiterklärte, mir bei der Montage der Balkonbretter zu helfen, genauer gesagt, diese in die Hand zu nehmen: Ruwen, Schorsch, Samuel und Levin brachten einiges voran (gleichzeitig machten die Maler fleißig an der Fassade weiter, Papa verbrachte eine ganze "Urlaubswoche" hier und meine Mama widmete sich das Wochenende über dem Schleifen und Streichen der Fensterläden). Wahnsinn!

Last week a lot of things went ahead here: I have been supported by a team of helpers from the village, who agreed to help me (or to take care of it to be precise) mounting the new balcony boards: Ruwen, Schorsch, Samuel and Levin made considerable contribution (at the same time, the painters took care of the facade, my dad spent a "holiday week" here and my mom a few days grinding and painting blinds). Unbelievable!

Kurz gesagt: Letzte Woche ging wieder was voran. Ich hatte viel Unterstützung. Zunächst hat der Papa die zweite Urlaubswoche mit Brückentag im Mai hier verbracht. Es gab viel mit ihm zu planen und zu besprechen, aber auch zu tun. So bekam er eine eigene To-Do-Liste (im Urlaub soll ja keine Langeweile aufkommen). Auf dieser wurden im Laufe der Woche fast alle Punkte erledigt (bis auf das Holz im Garten mit mir klein sägen und die neuen Ofenrohre montieren - beides hatte keine Priorität). Der erste Punkt war: Abflexen des alten Terrassengeländers.

In one sentence: something has been going on last week. I had a lot of support. First, my dad spent his second holiday week in May with a bridging day here. There was a lot to plan and to discuss, where I needed his help, but also to do: that's why he got his own to-do-list (to prevent boredom during vacation). Pretty much all points have been done (except for sawing the boards in the garden with me and installing the new stovepipes, both not priority). The first point was: cutting of the balustrades of the old terrasse.

Nun ist es ziemlich genau ein Jahr her, dass ich in mein Haus gezogen bin. Das habe ich mir zum Anlass genommen, ein paar Vorher-Nachher-Bilder zusammenzutragen, die ich bisher nur zum Teil veröffentlicht habe. Sie geben nicht den gesamten Fortschritt wieder, zeigen aber, dass sich durchaus was verändert hat (auch wenn es noch viel zu tun gibt). Leider hab ich fast zu wenige Vorher-Bilder. Die neuen Baustellen sind immer so schnell eröffnet und abgerissen sind die Dinge schnell... bis alles wieder gemacht ist, dauert es deutlich länger ;-) Neulich bekam ich den Tipp, den Fortschritt durch Vorher-Nachher-Aufnahmen genau zu dokumentieren. Und am besten nach dem Renovieren Aufnahmen aus der genau gleichen Perspektive zu machen (Danke Dani, du hast wirklich recht), um den direkten Vergleich zu haben. Wo es noch gegangen ist, seht ihr im Folgenden.

Pretty much exactly one year has passed since I have moved into my house. I took this opportunity to collect a few before-after-pics, that I had only partly published before. Not all the progress is covered by them, but they show that there has been kind of a change (though much still has to be changed). I unfortunately have almost too few before pictures. New reconstruction projects are started to fastly and things are broken down within no time. It takes much longer to set things up again ;-) I recently got the advice (thanks, Dani, you are right) to document the progress diligently using before-after-pics. And to take after-pictures from the same perspective to have a direct comparison. You can see now where it worked.
